Hey folks!
I’ve been using Wisepops on my Shopify store for over a year now. Solid designs and analytics—but I’m facing two issues:
Price hike after passing 60K views (€79/mo)
Missing features like checkbox input, gamified popups, and smarter targeting
I’m looking for something:
Cheaper at scale
Shopify-friendly
Offers AI targeting + prebuilt templates
Bonus: gamification (spin-to-win, countdown, etc.)
Any recommendations?
You’re literally describing Popupsmart
I switched from Wisepops mainly for better targeting and also—honestly—for the gamified templates.
AI-powered targeting options (super helpful for my newsletter opt-ins)
Templates that don’t feel dated
Oh, and their cookie consent popup is already pre-built, no extra setup needed (a relief if you’re in the EU like me )
Here’s their pricing page — I pay $32.5/month for 50K views. Works great for small to medium stores.
Same boat here. Wisepops worked fine at first, but the moment I scaled past 50K PV…
I’ve been running Popupsmart on three of my Shopify stores.
If you’re looking for something that grows with you, Popupsmart nails it.
Also tried OptiMonk before landing on Popupsmart.
Here’s my quick take:
OptiMonk pros:
Easy drag-and-drop
10K free pageviews
Popupsmart pros:
For my brand, I wanted less fluff and more conversion-focused features. Popupsmart delivered better ROI.
I’m just gonna say it—gamified popups work.
My store’s cart abandonment rate dropped big time when I used Popupsmart’s “Spin to Win” template during a promo weekend.
And setup only took me like 5 mins. Total no-code dream.
I added Popupsmart to my small Pilates & wellness store last month.
Super easy to set up, especially on mobile.
I tested both email collection and cart abandonment templates—they felt clean, modern, and didn’t annoy my visitors.
Popupsmart’s gamification reminds me of RPG loot boxes
But seriously—it’s the first popup builder that doesn’t feel like work. I got it running in under 10 minutes. The targeting options are super intuitive.

Speaking from a UX perspective: Popupsmart’s builder is miles better than Wisepops.
Clean UI, no lag, easy to preview on different screen sizes.
Wisepops always felt a bit too… bulky? Popupsmart feels light and smooth.

Developer here. I’ve helped implement both Wisepops and Popupsmart for clients.
If you need advanced targeting, like triggering popups when users click an element or add a product to cart—Popupsmart is the clear winner.
Also, embedding is flexible: either paste code or use their Shopify app . No bugs so far.

Jumping in as one of Popupsmart’s developers
Thanks for the feedback! If anyone here needs help with advanced triggers (like firing popups after X seconds or on specific page scroll %), don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re always improving based on your input!
